Magpie 43

I remember making snow angels when I was a child. Impervious to the cold, coming in only when forced by adults worried now about blue fingers and noses too red.

My own children play outside, and I call them into the warmth. Not because I am worried they are too cold, but because nothing feels better than giving their cool little bodies warm hugs. Inviting them in, into the sanctuary of warmth.

This is bliss.

This is love.

  1. Moments of motherly love can manifest itself in very ordinary situations. It's whether one makes it a point to do so. Brilliant!

  7. I wonder why kids never feel the temperature like adults? It's the same with either the cold or the heat. Nice Magpie.

  9. Very endearing. It has a simplicity and straight-forwardness about it, that I look for in literature.

  16. I always enjoyed my sweet little boy's tiny arms around my neck when he came in from the cold. It was even better to snuggle with him over a hot cup of cocoa and watch a good Christmas movie, after he spent the whole day building snowmen, sledding and playing with his little friends.
